So like most people I find I am most productive when plans are laid out in front of me. One thing I found that helps guide me to where I want to be are vision boards. I recently made a board filled with positive affirmations, words of self empowerment and goals of a healthy lifestyle change that I woke up to every morning. This was my motivation to get out of bed before work and head to my early morning class with my trainer at the gym. It was 6:30am three days a week and was very challenging. When I didn't think I could get up I would look over at the board hanging on my wall and repeat back the words staring back at me. Before I knew it my shoes were laced up and I was heading out the door. It is a daily reminder of the positive steps I am committing to in my life towards my own health. It just gave me a grip on taking things into my own hands and that feeling of empowerment is a huge force to get you where you need to be.
I am currently making another board right now on places I want to travel. I am reflecting on what emotions I was feeling and the place I was in when I decided to move out here to New York City. Know one knows you better than you do. People can be of great support to you, but in the end its you who knows what drives you to get what you want out of life. So if you are interested in making one for yourself, look for words that inspire you, that speak to you and that you know will benefit your progression in a positive way. Look for a place where you will see it when you wake up or somewhere where you know you will be in contact with it throughout your day. It can be as small as something that fits in your wallet or a positive word that sits on the dashboard of your car. It can start as one word or picture and grow from there as you find things to add on that motivate you. Scan thru some magazines, print out quotes that inspire you, use bright colors, pictures of places you want to visit, where you want to be or who the person is that you are working on becoming. Just imagine...before your day even starts you will be your own cheerleader looking at something so personal that you made to motivate yourself and a reminder of what you are progressing toward.
There is a yoga instructor I really enjoy taking class from out here. It is a mixed class with people at different levels of their practice but there is something he says that always sticks with me. When trying to move into a challenging position he says,

"Listen to your body, if you aren't there yet its okay,
visualize & imagine the possibilities,
one day you will get there."
