My First Letter!

I received my first letter from the boy I am sponsoring in Quito Ecuador!  I was having a bit of an off day and when I went to my mailbox that it completely turned everything around for me!  I was very happy to see a letter from Children International and was anticipating that Erick may have finally written me.  The first half of the letter was written by hand in spanish followed by a printed translation in English.  Since I am working on my spanish, it was great to see the written word and then take a glance at the bottom to see if what I thought it said was correct.  The greatest surprise and icing on the cake was turning the paper over to find that indeed his favorite subject is art & that he had colored me a picture!  It really puts things in life into perspective and how unimportant negative things in your day can become.  His enthusiastic letter really brought me joy & it is impressive that at the bottom of his paper he checked principles and values as something he likes to learn in school.
